From Ian:

Biden's Iranian Nuclear Obsession
If US President Joe Biden really is "gravely concerned" about the plight of Iranian schoolgirls being attacked and killed by Iran's authoritarian regime, then the best way to help them would be to abandon his ill-considered attempt to broker a new nuclear deal with Tehran.

The death toll is now said to have passed the 200 mark, with many of the fatalities reported to be children as young as 11 years old.

Consequently, Mr Biden's response is being seen as little more than a token gesture....

Rather than holding the Iranian regime to account for its atrocious conduct, Mr Biden's priority remains to secure another flawed nuclear deal with Tehran, one that would result in enabling Iran to have nuclear weapons with no prohibition on the missiles to deliver them, as well as the lifting of punitive economic sanctions and up to a trillion dollars in additional revenues to "export the revolution."

If, as now seems increasingly likely, the White House commits to a new nuclear deal once next month's midterm elections are out of the way, the US Congress will be in Christmas recess and therefore unable to block it.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), designated by the US as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, together with all the other instruments of state-sponsored oppression in Iran, would receive extra funding dollars once the sanctions are lifted that will enable them to further develop their hostile activities.

Iran has already destroyed four Arab countries in addition to its own: Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq.
Former Prime Minister Netanyahu: "Iran Cheats, You Can Sign 100 Agreements with Them, It Doesn't Mean Anything"
Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview on Wednesday: "Do you want Iran to have nuclear weapons and threaten the entire world, chanting 'Death to America' and 'America the Great Satan'? Not a good idea. The [proposed Iran] deal doesn't stop it."

"I sent the Mossad to the heart of Tehran to pilfer the secret atomic archives of Iran....And when we looked at it, we could see that they were cheating. They had, as early as 2003, a secret plan to build...five atomic bombs, Hiroshima-style bombs....Iran cheats. And, look, there is no way to stop them. You can sign 100 agreements with them....It doesn't mean anything."

"Iran is...a radical Islamic regime that is fundamentally opposed to our free way of life, our free societies....that's only going to be stopped not by any agreement. It's going to be stopped by the combination of crippling economic sanctions and a credible military option."

"The agreements...merely pave Iran's path to the bomb with gold, with hundreds of billions of dollars that they use both to accelerate their nuclear program and also to foment terrorism and aggression throughout the Middle East and the world. You want to stop Iran, stop it now. Stop it before they have nuclear weapons, because, once they do, you're not going to be able to."
The Beginning of the End of the Islamic Republic
The current protests in Iran sound the death knell of the Islamic Republic. A wave of angry and bloody demonstrations, boycotts, work stoppages, and wildcat strikes have exhausted the country's security forces and spread to more than 100 cities.

The government endured major protests in 2009, 2017, and 2019, but these demonstrations are different. They embody the anger that Iranian women and young Iranians feel toward a regime that seeks to stifle their desires. And they promise to upend Iran's establishment.

It is said that revolutions devour their children, but in Iran the grandchildren are devouring the revolution.

Despite widespread censorship, Iran's Internet penetration rate (the percentage of the country's population that have access to the Internet) at the beginning of 2022 was 84%. Iranians have found ways to bypass censorship through the use of virtual private networks, or VPNs. Almost 80% of Iranians with Internet access have installed anti-filter and VPN software to evade censorship.

The U.S. government and its western European allies involved in the nuclear deal should halt negotiations with the Islamic Republic as long as Iranian authorities are suppressing the protests and throttling the Internet. The U.S. should introduce respect for human rights as a condition for continuing any negotiations. Congress should also refuse to release frozen Iranian funds in foreign banks, conditioning doing so on tangible improvement in Iran's treatment of its citizens.

If the U.S. were to revive the nuclear deal with Iran at this moment, it would strengthen an unpopular regime that is savagely crushing peaceful protests.

Backflip ‘unwarranted, unnecessary and damaging’
IT is common for parliamentarians from both sides of politics to speak of the strength of Australia’s support for and friendship with Israel. The test of friendship isn’t one of always agreeing, but true friendship does rely on always showing respect. In recent days the Albanese Labor government has, sadly, shown nothing but disrespect for our Israeli friends.

Labor’s completely unnecessary decision that Australia will cease to recognise West Jerusalem as the Israeli capital has been a shambolic process, contemptuous of many stakeholders, and executed with shocking timing.

Firstly, the Labor Party has clearly been deceptive and misleading in its conduct. Senior Labor members of Parliament assured concerned stakeholders, including readers of The Australian Jewish News, that on the question of Israel it didn’t matter which way they voted at the last election.

Mark Dreyfus wrote in The AJN on March 4 this year to attack Scott Morrison for suggesting there was any difference in policies. Mr Dreyfus claimed that across domestic politics Australia “spoke with one voice”. Josh Burns did likewise in The AJN on March 18, saying that Australia’s Jewish community should feel proud that its interests would be safeguarded “irrespective of whoever forms government”. Messrs Dreyfus and Burns should both feel shame, not pride, for misleading the community ahead of the election.

Contrary to their pre-election reassurances, the Albanese government has taken significant steps to reduce Australia’s support for Israel and, it appears, is likely to take further steps too.

Within weeks of their election the new Labor government refused to join 22 nations including Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, UK and US in voting in favour of a key motion put to the UN Human Rights Council. This motion expressed “deep concern” at the “disproportionate scrutiny” of Israel from an open-ended commission of inquiry into alleged human rights abuses. This is the same council that recently declined to even debate a one-off report on serious abuses in the Xinjiang region of China.

Penny Wong Foreign Minister: Pursuit of a peaceful solution should be above politics
The former PM played political games with the hopes and expectations of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples, and their Diaspora communities in Australia.

I regret that the shift away from Australia’s longstanding position, and the shift back this week, have been distressing for communities that have a deep-rooted and keenly felt stake in the cessation of conflict, particularly the Australian Jewish community. And the timing of this week’s announcement, falling as it did on Simchat Torah, was also deeply regrettable.

Reasonable people can disagree, as many readers will disagree with me. But I will always be straight with you, and I won’t use this issue to score points.

My sincere belief is that Australia’s role is the active and responsible pursuit of progress towards a just and enduring two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

As a responsible international actor, Australia will not impose its view of the final borders and boundaries, which should be the result of peace negotiations.

We continue to fight the scourge of antisemitism. And we will call out the unfair and disproportionate targeting of Israel in international forums.

When Australia first recognised the State of Israel, Evatt defined our objective as being “to reach a just and fair solution”.

The pursuit of that objective remains our duty. It should remain beyond politics. I believe our policy is an expression of that duty.

When Terrorists Hail Australia's Diplomacy, Call It a Dangerous Blunder
On Tuesday, the Australian government confirmed it had reversed former Prime Minister Scott Morrison's 2018 recognition of West Jerusalem as Israel's capital. How exactly this will advance peace is anyone's guess. Australia's assertion that West Jerusalem's status remains undetermined is an ahistorical, patronizing insult to its only democratic ally in a volatile region.

West Jerusalem has been under Israeli control since Israel's establishment in 1948, while Israel's parliament has sat in West Jerusalem since 1950. Every serious peace proposal has accepted Israel's control over West Jerusalem. That Jerusalem is the Jewish state's capital is unavoidable. So why is the Albanese government denying it?

Australia's announcement, which was lauded by Palestinian leadership, will be correctly viewed as a free diplomatic victory and will further disincentivize Palestinians from returning to negotiations. Moreover, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad - both designated by Australia as terrorist organizations - hailed the move. That certainly tells us everything we need to know about an easily avoidable foreign policy blunder.
Australia erases recognition of east Jerusalem as future Palestinian capital
Australia’s foreign ministry quietly erased its recognition of the Palestinians’ hope for a capital in east Jerusalem after it reversed its recognition of western Jerusalem as Israel’s capital earlier this week.

The erasure came after media reports that, despite revoking its recognition of part of Jerusalem as Israeli, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) website continued to state that “in December 2018, Australia acknowledged the aspirations of the Palestinian people for a future state with its capital in East Jerusalem.”

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong defended her government's decision to no longer recognize western Jerusalem as the capital of Israeli in an article for the Australian Jewish News on Thursday.

"I understand that there are few issues more central for many Jewish people than the status of Jerusalem," Wong wrote. "It’s a sensitivity so deep that for the overwhelming majority of the international community, it has remained a final status issue, that should be resolved as part of any peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian people."

She accused former prime minister Scott Morrison of only recognizing Jerusalem in an attempt to win a by-election in a district with a large Jewish population.

"The former PM played political games with the hopes and expectations of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples, and their Diaspora communities in Australia," she wrote. "I will always be straight with you, and I won’t use this issue to score points."

Wong expressed regret that reverting her country's position was "distressing" and that the announcement came on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.
Caroline Glick Show: Why is Australia’s Labour government assaulting Jerusalem and Israel?
Australia’s Labour government’s decision to “celebrate” Simchat Torah by renouncing Canberra’s recognition of West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is an assault on Israel, Caroline Glick argues in the latest episode of the “Caroline Glick Show.”

Joining Glick ahead of the Israeli elections is also MK Simcha Rothman. The two discuss legal reforms and the Religious Zionism Party legal platform. v In her remarks, Glick also discusses the Israel-Lebanon deal and the protests in Iran.

Benjamin Netanyahu: This is a denial of history and reality

BBC News reports parts of the Australia backtrack story
Turnbull promotes a link to a problematic report by Yolande Knell from last month:
“The UK is currently considering moving its embassy to Jerusalem. Honduras, Guatemala and Kosovo are the only countries other than the US with embassies in the city.”

At the bottom of her article a 2017 backgrounder by Knell on Jerusalem – plagued by inaccuracy and omission – is promoted.

The final two paragraphs of Turnbull’s report are apparently intended to provide readers with background to the story:
“While Israel regards Jerusalem as its “eternal and undivided” capital, the Palestinians claim East Jerusalem – which Israel occupied in the 1967 Middle East war and effectively annexed in 1980 – as the capital of a future state.

Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem has never been recognised internationally, and according to the 1993 Israel-Palestinian peace accords, the final status of Jerusalem is meant to be discussed in the latter stages of peace talks.”

As is standard BBC practice in any report about the status of Jerusalem, Turnbull’s account fails to inform readers of the inclusion of Jerusalem in the territory assigned by the League of Nations to the creation of a Jewish homeland. It also excludes the 1948 belligerent Jordanian invasion and subsequent ethnic cleansing of Jews who had lived in Jerusalem for generations from districts including the Old City, together with the destruction of synagogues and cemeteries, as well as the fact that the 1949 Armistice Agreement between Israel and Jordan specifically stated that the ceasefire lines were not borders.

The BBC has been covering the topic of the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital since late 2016. Throughout those nearly six years, the full range of background that would help audiences understand these stories has been serially withheld. It is entirely obvious that the BBC’s chosen framing of this topic is not intended to meet its obligation to “provide accurate and impartial news, current affairs and factual programming of the highest editorial standards so that all audiences can engage fully with issues across the UK and the world” but to advance a politically motivated narrative.
AP, Forbes & More Correct Australia Did Not Recognize Tel Aviv As Israel’s Capital
None of the hyperlinked articles cited by Forbes as sources for the erroneous claim actually reported that Australia has recognized Tel Aviv as Israel’s capital.

After CAMERA noted the error, Forbes issued a stealth correction, amending the copy without alerting readers to the change. The updated “Key Fact” now rightly notes: Australian foreign secretary Penny Wong said the government would keep its embassy in Tel Aviv, according to multiple news reports.”

Finally, Ynetnews‘ English edition also apparently borrowed from AP’s erroneous copy, wrongly reporting: “The center-left Australian government led by the Labor Party agreed on Tuesday to again recognize Tel Aviv as the capital of Israel.” While Itamar Eichner’s byline appears on the article, his Hebrew article on the Australian move does not contain the error, suggesting some sloppy editing at the English desk.
Putting the Breaks on Arabic Media Falsely Citing ‘Non-Stop’ Tel Aviv As Israel’s Capital
Like hummus joints studding a Middle Eastern metropolis, false references to Tel Aviv as shorthand for Israel are a fixture of the Arabic media landscape, experts repeatedly told CAMERA prior to the 2018 launch of CAMERA Arabic. This seemingly immutable feature is true even for Arabic-language reports published in Western media outlets which do not accept that false assertion in English and other languages, the media professionals said.

A second takeaway from the countless meetings with Arabic media insiders was that there is no body or organization holding Western media outlets accountable for their misreporting in Arabic, and no one systematically communicating to English-language editors the alternate reality reporting of their Arabic-speaking colleagues, employees of their very own media institutions. Nor is there any culture of correcting erroneous reporting appearing in Arabic-language reports of Western media outlets.

Some five years later, following the establishment and the growing successes of CAMERA Arabic, the second point is no longer true. CAMERA Arabic has clearly established itself as the leading (and only) organization systematically monitoring, prompting an impressive 41 Arabic corrections at leading Western media outlets last year.

As for the first Arabic media fixture, CAMERA Arabic puts the breaks on the non-stop formulation falsely casting the “non-stop city,” ie Tel Aviv, as Israel’s capital.

During the months of August and September 2022, CAMERA Arabic prompted 17 corrections at four media outlets which falsely referred to Tel Aviv as Israel’s seat of government. Below is a comprehensive list of the corrections.
Lord Levy warns British Jews not to support Jerusalem recognition
Lord Michael Levy joined the chorus of predictable voices condemning Liz Truss for considering moving the British embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital.

In an op-ed at The Times (“Moving British embassy in Israel to Jerusalem would be a disaster”, Oct. 13) the Labour Peer not only criticised the prime minister, but lectured British Jews on what he sees as the potential consequences of taking the ‘incorrect’ position on the issue:
I would also suggest this proposal is something British Jews would be unwise to support. The heads of the youth movements have strongly denounced the move. They are the future leadership of the Jewish community and should be listened to carefully. It could be highly detrimental for intercommunal and interfaith relations here at home.

His ‘suggestion’ is likely a response to the president of the Board of Deputies, Marie van der Zyl, who publicly expressed support earlier in the month for moving the embassy to Jerusalem – a position subsequently supported by more than 500 leading members of the Jewish community. This list includes prominent figures on the left and right of the political spectrum.

But, quite tellingly, Levy grossly misleads in his claim that “the heads of the youth movements have strongly denounced the move”.

In fact, what he’s almost certainly referring to is a petition signed by over 100 British Jews associated – or previously associated with – Jewish youth organisations. This is a drop in the bucket when considering the total number of British Jews who are affiliated with such organisations. And, as far as we can tell, not one of the many Jewish youth organisations has taken an official position on the issue.
UK Owns Land in Jerusalem Earmarked for Future Embassy
The British government holds a plot of land in Jerusalem earmarked for decades as the site of a future embassy in Israel.

The site in the Talpiot neighborhood, known as the Orange Plot, was retained by the British government as part of a 1960s agreement with Israel.

"The Israelis assume, no doubt, that we wish to use the site in the event of our transferring the Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem," Alan Goodison, a Foreign and Commonwealth Office official, wrote in July 1964. "This is, of course, true."

The lease on the site was renewed for 40 years in 2007.

A visit to the plot on Monday found an area of empty scrubland between Hanoch Albek Street and Shmuel Lupo Street, adjacent to a proposed site for a new U.S. embassy.
US Amb. Nides to JNS: Israelis and Palestinians ‘nowhere near two-state solution’
The Biden administration’s ambassador to Israel Tom Nides has a tough act to follow. Predecessor David Friedman was the Trump administration’s point person for major U.S. policy shifts in Israel’s favor, including the move of the embassy to Jerusalem, recognition of Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights, and the signing of the historic Abraham Accords by Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.

For Israel’s center-right majority, the Trump administration provided a momentary high point in recent U.S.-Israel relations. The Biden administration’s positions represent a turn back towards the policies of previous administrations, including the tenure of Barack Obama, in which President Joe Biden served as vice president. Those years were often highlighted by the oft-contentious relationship between Obama and former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Unlike Obama, Biden has long-expressed deep sentiments towards the Jewish state, even if the policies he supports don’t stray far from Obama’s and other former presidents. Yet, with Netanyahu currently out of the premier’s chair—albeit vying to return in the upcoming election—the U.S.-Israel relationship has by and large proceeded without serious diplomatic incidents during Nides’ brief tenure to date. It is Nides’ job to make sure that the critical strategic relationship between America, the world’s most powerful nation, and Israel, its strongest ally and an emerging Middle East superpower, remains constructive.

In many ways, Nides represents the strength and bravado of much of the American Jewish community. A Reform Jew from Minnesota, he was a successful banker holding high-ranking positions at Fannie Mae and Credit Suisse First Boston, and ultimately serving as chief operating officer, and then managing director and vice chairman, at Morgan Stanley.
UN pushes to declare 'Israeli occupation' illegal, may seek ICJ opinion
UN experts are pushing for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague to issue an advisory opinion declaring that the "Israeli occupation" of territory over the pre-1967 lines is illegal.

The UN General Assembly could issue a resolution to seek such an opinion already this year.
“The actions of Israeli Governments reviewed in our report constitute an illegal occupation and annexation regime that must be addressed.”
COI Commissioner Chris Sidoti

A request for such an opinion has already been submitted to the UN's Third Committee by the Commission of Inquiry on "the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel," headed by South African legal expert Navi Pillay.

Created last year, the three-member permanent COI published on Thursday its second report, which will be debated by the UNGA Third Committee on October 27.

The request for an ICJ advisory opinion was listed at the end of the 28-page document.

“The actions of Israeli Governments reviewed in our report constitute an illegal occupation and annexation regime that must be addressed,” COI Commissioner Chris Sidoti said.

“The international system and individual states must act and uphold their obligations under international law. That must begin at this session of the General Assembly with a referral to the International Court of Justice,” he said.

The commission also called on the International Criminal Court to prioritize its investigation into whether it would accept war crimes suits against Israelis for their treatment of the Palestinians.

‘Dangerous Criminals’: Israeli Politicians and Security Officials Condemn Settler Violence Against IDF
Israeli politicians on Thursday condemned violence by Jewish settlers against IDF forces who were trying to disperse riots which broke out around Huwara near the West Bank town of Nablus the night before.

“The Jewish rioters who violently attacked IDF soldiers in Huwara are dangerous criminals who must be denounced and held accountable without hesitation and with the utmost severity,” stated Prime Minister Yair Lapid. “They endanger the lives of our soldiers and they harm the State of Israel.”

Israeli settlers overnight pepper sprayed a paratrooper battalion commander and another three soldiers as they were trying to disperse violent riots near Huwara, the Israeli army said. As a result, the battalion commander and another soldier were injured, the army added.

IDF forces had been deployed to the area stop dozens of Israeli civilians who were hurling rocks at Palestinian vehicles.

The Israeli Police said the suspects involved in the attack fled in vehicles and during the hunt after them one of the suspects was arrested.
3 Israelis charged in Hamas plot to sabotage telecom networks used by IDF during war
Three men from northern Israel were indicted on Thursday for allegedly sending a large volume of sensitive information to the Hamas terror group in Turkey, and for plans to sabotage Israel’s cellular network in a future war.

According to the charge sheet, the trio were accused of committing “grave security offenses” and rendering the infrastructure of one of the country’s largest telecommunications companies vulnerable to a potential cyberattack.

One of the accused — identified only by the Hebrew initials of his first and last names, Resh Ayin — had worked for cellular giant Cellcom since 2004 as a software engineer, the indictment said.

In 2017, out of “ideological identification with Hamas and its goals,” he met officials from the Palestinian terror group while visiting Turkey, according to a joint statement by the Israel Police, the State Attorney’s Office and the Shin Bet security agency.

Resh Ayin was accused of handing the group sensitive information on communications infrastructure in Israel, which he had come across as part of his work.

In 2020 and 2021, Resh Ayin held further meetings with Hamas officials in Turkey, and at Hamas’s request, the employee asked another defendant — a freelance adviser to Cellcom on computer and communications networks, identified by his initials Shin Ayin — to hand him information on the infrastructure’s weak points, while noting this was for use by Hamas.
Spotlight on Jenin: Part Six: The Threat of Terrorism to Jenin’s Economy
In this piece, we will take a look at Jenin’s economy, its monumental growth in the 15-year period following the Second Intifada, and the threat that terrorism poses to its continued growth.

From Traditional Markets to Mass Investment: Jenin’s Economic Boom
Based in the northern West Bank, Jenin’s economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, due to the region’s fertile soil and access to natural springs.

However, the city underwent a period of unprecedented economic growth after the Second Intifada. During the terror wave, Jenin was the site of some of the most intense fighting between the Israeli army and Palestinian terror groups.

The economic growth was marked by increased Arab Israeli investment, the opening of the Arab American University (which strengthened businesses in the areas surrounding the university’s campus and dormitories), increased movement of people and goods between the region and pre-1967 Israel at the nearby Gilboa / Jalameh crossing (which opened in 2009), an increase in residents of Jenin working for Israeli businesses and a boom in the real estate sector.

In addition, the Palestinian Authority launched the Jenin Pilot Project in 2008. This plan, which was supported by Israel, the United States, and other international investors, was focused on revitalizing Jenin. This included strengthening PA forces in the region, developing an industrial park, and updating vital infrastructure such as electricity and water.

While Jenin’s economy was undergoing 15 years of growth and prosperity, there also developed a black market of sorts, where disenfranchised youth and former members of terror organizations made a living by selling stolen car parts, dealing in arms, and extorting members of the general population.

The growth of this seedy underbelly in Jenin over the past few years, as well as an economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic, helped contribute to the anarchic atmosphere which has allowed terror organizations such as Hamas, the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to assert their dominance on the streets of Jenin and wrest control of the area from the security forces of the Palestinian Authority.

This, in turn, has led to the revival of Jenin as a hub of Palestinian terrorism.
Fugitive terrorist behind deadly Jerusalem checkpoint attack killed
A terrorist wanted for the deadly Oct. 9 attack at a Jerusalem checkpoint was killed Wednesday while carrying out another shooting outside a Jewish settlement outside Jerusalem, authorities said.

Guards at the entrance to Maale Adumim, one of whom was wounded in the incident, fired back, killing 22-year-old Uday Tamimi, police said. Police commander Uzi Levy told reporters that Tamimi was armed with a pistol and was carrying an explosive device.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid identified him as responsible for killing a soldier – Stg. Noa Lazar – and wounding three others in the earlier attack at a checkpoint near Shuafat, a Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

Following the Oct. 8 attack, police blockaded Shuafat for days as they searched for Tamimi, which led to violent protests against the measures.

Tensions have deepened since the IDF launched Operation Breakwater, an extensive counterterrorism campaign in Judea and Samaria, following a series of terror attacks by Palestinians in Israel that killed 19 people.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid said that Israel "will act with a heavy hand and not hesitate against terror."
'Justice was done' - Family of slain IDF soldier after killer shot dead in 2nd attack
The manhunt for the Shuafat checkpoint killer came to an end on Wednesday night when he was shot dead in a failed shooting attack at the entrance to Ma’aleh Adumim, south of the Israeli capital.

The terrorist, east Jerusalem resident 22-year-old Udai Tamimi, arrived at the entrance to the West Bank city and opened fire at nearby security personnel. According to United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Akiva Skolnick, the terrorist was killed by returning fire from the guards. A grenade and knife were found on his person.
"Two highly experienced security guards that were at the checkpoint at the city entrance neutralized the terrorist immediately, with bravery and a lot of resourcefulness and without fear."
Ma’aleh Adumim mayor Benny Kashriel

The shooter was responsible for the killing of 18-year-old Military Police officer Noa Lazar on October 8 when he opened fire at a checkpoint near the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat . A 30-year-old security guard remains in intensive care, sedated and on a ventilator. A third person, a soldier, was also injured.

For 11 days, security forces had been searching for Tamimi. Israel Police, Shin Bet and Border Police had arrested several people suspected of aiding the terrorist on Monday night, seizing weapon parts, cartridges and vests.

Lazar's family thanked security forces for their work after the attack at Ma’aleh Adumim.

PMW: Wife inseminated with terrorist prisoner husband’s “liberated sperm”
The PA takes great pride in the fact that imprisoned terrorists are succeeding in smuggling out sperm to their wives. So far, they have fathered at least 101 babies – so-called “ambassadors of freedom” - if the PA is to be believed.

One of the PA’s “celebrities” is terror mom Um Yusuf Abu Hmeid, famous in the PA for having nurtured 6 terrorist sons who together have murdered at least 10 Israelis. She has already benefitted from the sperm smuggling once when she had a grandson a few years ago, allegedly from sperm her son Nasr Abu Hmeid – a terrorist involved in the murder of 4 - had succeeded in smuggling out of prison.

Now it seems terror mom Latifa will become a grandmother again as another of her imprisoned sons has followed in his brother’s footsteps. Last month, the wife of Muhammad Abu Hmeid – a terrorist who is serving 2 life sentences for several weapons related charges, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder – “underwent artificial insemination from the liberated sperm of her husband”:
Headline: “The wife of prisoner Muhammad Abu Hmeid underwent artificial insemination from the liberated sperm of her husband”

“Wardeh Adnan, the wife of the prisoner sentenced to 2 life sentences and another 30 years Muhammad Abu Hmeid, underwent artificial insemination from the sperm of her prisoner husband in the presence of her husband’s mother, the Khansa of Palestine Um Yusuf Abu Hmeid, her mother, her family members, and Ramallah and El-Bireh District Governor Laila Ghannam.”

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 23, 2022]

As noted above, a prominent witness was present at the procedure: PA official Ramallah District Governor Laila Ghannam. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed her as an avid terror supporter, and at the insemination she stated that the Abu Hmeid family “is recording a new defiance against this terrorist occupier.” Ghannam added that “our proud people and the prisoners’ families will continue to be loyal to the path as long as there is a fighting mother who gives birth and sons who will carry the flag of liberation.”

The U.S. Shouldn’t Be Sheltering Former Iranian Officials
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s longstanding record of violent hostility toward the United States and its extensive support for terror should be enough to make Washington leery of opening the country’s doors to the regime’s former officials—all the more so given its brutal crackdown on its own populace and its provision of Russia with military drones and other technical assistance. But, as Mariam Memarsadeghi details, ex-employees of the Iranian government have found both safe harbor and influence in America:

Mehdi Ansari, the former head of the Basij at Sharif University, where students were viciously attacked and beaten by the regime, is living in the United States. The Basij is a paramilitary [organization] of young ideologues under the control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who pride themselves on their everyday thuggery and beating and killing of protesters. During his tenure as head of the Basij at Sharif, Ansari organized against reformists including through demonstrations for students from Sharif and other universities in Tehran.

Ansari’s history as a member of the Basij force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an entity on the U.S. list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations, did not prevent him from obtaining a visa for graduate studies in the United States at the University of Minnesota in 2017. Since living in America, he has also worked at the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and the International Monetary Fund.

A former regime diplomat who served in Germany during the Mykonos terror attack on Iranian-Kurdish dissidents [in Germany in 1992] today has a position at Princeton University as part of a program on “global security.” The regime’s former ambassador to the United Nations during a 1988 prison massacre that took thousands of lives is teaching as the “professor of peace” at Oberlin College. The Alavi Foundation, an arm of the regime, is believed to fund similar appointments.

As Memarsadeghi goes on to detail, individuals like Ansari present themselves to the public as experts on Iran and are then cited by journalists when they defend, excuse, or deny the Islamic Republic’s crimes.

HonestReporting Undeterred After Being Targeted by Iranian Press TV
HonestReporting came under attack this week for its success in highlighting antisemitic social media posts of journalists who praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and terrorist attacks that killed dozens of Jews, Muslims and Christians.

Normally, we don’t address such criticism, which comes and goes. But this time we were shocked to see that we garnered the attention of Press TV, a state-owned and funded news network of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and it therefore cannot be ignored.

The Iranian regime that has killed more than 200 critics of its policies toward women in recent weeks found time to target HonestReporting, devoting its ‘Palestine Declassified‘ program to the question “Honest Reporting or Dishonest Intimidation?” Show Depicts HonestReporting Staff’s Kids

The show accused the staff of HonestReporting of working for the Israeli government and the Israel Defense Forces, singling out staff members who served their compulsory military service. The decision by The New York Times to no longer work with journalists following their antisemitic posts was falsely attributed to a vast conspiracy.

Host Chris Williamson said the show would reveal “the way in which the Zionist regime marshals its forces internationally to remove critics from their jobs.”

Reporter Latifa Abouchakra concluded her report: “It’s clear that Hosam Salem, a Palestinian photographer from Gaza, was fired from his job at The New York Times by the Israeli military.” The truth is that HonestReporting merely did its due diligence in vetting journalists who worked for mainstream media outlets from the Gaza Strip, which has no freedom of the press under the regime of the Iranian-backed Hamas, which is officially recognized as a terrorist organization by the United States.

There is no “calculated, coordinated effort to target anyone who stands up for the Palestinians,” as analyst David Miller alleged in the program. But grave antisemitism in both mainstream and social media must be properly monitored and called out.
