A PA official has announced that negotiations are ongoing for Israel to allow some 5000 Gazans to work in areas of Israel adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
The Director General of the PA General Administration of border crossings Nazmi Muhanna said that the Ministry of Civil Affairs will provide names to the Israeli side from which to to choose the five thousand workers to work in Israel, adding that the number will be increased after the success of the first phase.
Mehanna said that they would work adjacent to the Gaza Strip and will be in the areas of agriculture, construction and similar jobs.
If true, this sounds like a spectacularly bad idea.
