Six Jewish extremists arrested in killing of Jerusalem teen
The suspects are members of a Jewish extremist cell, the Shin Bet security agency said.Police: Israeli Arab Killed Shelly Dadon in Suspected Terror Attack
Officials suspect the killing was most likely carried out by Jewish extremists in revenge for the killing of three Israeli teenagers earlier in June.
Several Israeli media outlets reported that six people in total were arrested, including a number of minors.
The suspects are from Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem and the settlement of Adam, police said, according to Channel 2.
Israel Police on Sunday announced that an Israeli Arab was behind the murder of 20-year-old Shelly Dadon in an empty parking lot in northern Israel on May 1, and that the killer is suspected to have had nationalistic motives.Suspected accomplice in 3 teens’ killings arrested
The suspect is Hussein Khalifa, 34, from Iblin, a taxi driver who drove workers to and from factories in the Migdal Haemek industrial zone, according to the ISA – Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
“During ISA questioning, Hussein Khalifa confessed to murdering Dadon and disclosed many details regarding the murder,” Shin Bet investigators said in a statement. (h/t Bob Knot)
Husam Dofsh, who had been reported missing from his home since the abduction, called the Walla News desk hours after it was reported Friday that he was suspected of assisting in the abduction and killing of Eyal Yifrach, 19; Naftali Fraenkel, 16; and Gil-ad Shaar, 16.Murder suspects could strike again
Dofsh said that he was calling from his home and insisted he had taken no part in the kidnapping. He was apprehended by Israeli soldiers in a Hebron coffee shop soon after the call, and did not admit to complicity in the killing.
The Israeli military had raided Dofsh’s family house in Hebron several times since the abduction, notifying the family that he was wanted for questioning. But he was never at home when the raids took place and did not turn himself in to the IDF even after he was declared a suspect.
The Etzion Brigade, stationed to cover the area where three Israeli teens were kidnapped and murdered, reinforced its forces in recent day to increase their defense capabilities due to fear among security officials that the two terrorists suspected in the kidnapping case will maneuver to carry out an additional attack in the area. There is no “cycle of violence” in Israel
In an exclusive interview with Ynet, the commander of the Etzion Brigade, Colonel Amit Yamin, confirmed those fears stressing that an attack by Amar Abu-Eisha and Marwan Kawasmeh could manifest itself as the murder of soldiers, civilians or even an indiscriminatory suicide bombing.
There is no “cycle of violence” in Israel. There is instead an Islamic fundamentalist aggressor, identical to the one which at this moment is causing hundreds of thousands of deaths throughout the Middle East. An aggressor who hates the Jews, and whose orders to kill them is established in its charter, and who has kidnapped and killed three boys in cold-blood while singing joyously as can be heard in the terrible police’s tape recording.
If the Palestinian boy found Wednesday morning in the Jerusalem forest was killed by a group of Israeli criminals and racist psychopaths (which is still unproven at this time), this has nothing to do with the systematic and programmatic murder which has been perpetrated by Hamas for decades; an immense organization which has at hand an army, a significant stretch of land, Gaza, and access to funds.
Honest Reporting: About those unsubstantiated allegations
Part of my job as HonestReporting’s Managing Editor is to call out the media for making unsubstantiated and speculative allegations against Israel.Netanyahu: Rioting Israeli Arabs can't act violently while benefiting from state payments
That’s why I criticized those media outlets that prematurely stated as fact that Jewish extremists or settlers were responsible for the appalling murder of Palestinian teen Mohamed Abu Khdeir. From a journalistic perspective, it was wholly unprofessional to broadcast allegations without stating that they were exactly that. After all, when the media report on criminal cases, accuracy demands the descriptions “alleged” or “suspected” somewhere in the story.
Now that the suspects (and that’s all they are for now despite their arrests) have been revealed to be Jewish Israelis, there will be many on our own side who should reconsider the unsubstantiated speculation that they spread over social media platforms in recent days.
Police statements that left all potentialities open morphed into “facts” concerning honor killings and Abu Khdeir’s sexuality. So many of us hoped and prayed that this would be the case so that we would not have to confront the devastating reality that some of our own could have committed this crime.
The rumors spread, aided by an information vacuum and uncertainty that those working in Israel’s public diplomacy are only too familiar with. Israeli officials prefer to have all the facts in hand rather than making hasty and inaccurate statements.
I can understand the instinct to close ranks in a situation where Israel’s supporters are being confronted with the worst possible scenario. What I cannot understand, however, are the almost desperate and ultimately futile attempts that I witnessed from normally level-headed people to deflect all possibility that a Jew could be responsible for such a heinous crime.
Those who did so are no better than the media that they sought to criticize for prejudicial reporting.
Speaking at the opening of the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu again called on the Israeli Arab leadership to “show responsibility, stand up in the face of the rioting in order to restore quiet.”Where does Israeli Arab loyalty lie?
“Those who do not respect the law, will be arrested and severely punished,” he said, adding that Israel will deal with a “heavy hand “ against those lawbreakers and inciters “from any side.”
“There is no room in Israel for throwing rocks at police, throwing petrol bombs, blocking roads, destroying property or inciting against the very existence of the State of Israel,” he said.
The riots in Jerusalem, in the Triangle region adjacent to the Green Line, and in Wadi Ara cast a heavy doubt about Jews' and Arabs' willingness to live together in Israel. Balad MK Hanin Zoabi, former MK Azmi Bishara, and Sheikh Raed Salah of the Islamic Movement are not lone voices. The hundreds of protesters who went wild and endangered the lives of police officers, border police, and civilians prove that the Arabs in Israel are becoming more extreme. They have started to wave black flags, desiring a separation from Israel. Incitement by the Arab leadership falls on a bed of hatred and disloyalty to the state of which they are citizens. The voice of the moderate leaders, if there is one, isn't being heard. The Light Rail Destruction is More than Meets the Eye
The hypocrisy of the Arabs of Israel is unchecked and disgusting. On one hand, they are unwilling to disengage from the nation state of the Jewish people, and on the other they lend their voices to their country's worst enemies. Unfortunately, they do not realize that their actions keep them walking a tightrope that could collapse if their traitorous conduct persists. Israeli Arabs should decide as soon as possible whether they are Israeli citizens or an expeditionary force in the fight to wipe out the Zionist entity from inside. They should remember that a democracy must not sit with its hands folded when forces inside it are seeking to revolt and bring it down.
All of which brings us to the Jerusalem Light Rail train. The train is very popular among the working Arabs and used by both Arabs and Jews. The train had nothing to do with the Arab boy either. Despite its popularity, the BDS Movement has been trying to get the light rail boycotted, but has been unsuccessful precisely because the majority of working Arabs want it there and it is highly profitable for the international investors.Arabs Torch UN Car, Try to Blow Up Building (+Video)
I have no doubt the BDS leaders in the US cooperated with the Arab Mafia to attack the train and vandalize it. This was done to make the international owners throw up their hands and leave. Wars are traditionally fought by destroying the opposition’s infrastructure such as trains, from the air or with ground troops.
The riots closing down the train for months were no less a military strike, a new manner of warfare - and Israel once again fell for it. (h/t Bob Knot)

The Arabs also threw firebombs on a building’s fuel tank in an attempt to blow it up. The building’s facade was lightly damaged from the fire.
A group of Arabs hurled rocks at a young couple outside Jerusalem's Old City on Saturday night, Walla! reports. Palestinian Arab terrorists also threw rocks at a bus passing under a tunnel near Mount Scopus late Saturday night, injuring the bus driver and two passengers.
Later, the 174 bus between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim was also attacked. Footage of the aftermath has surfaced.
Fifteen Arab extremists from Silwan attacked the Diaspora Yeshiva on Mount Zion in Jerusalem Friday night, hurling rocks at students eating the traditional Shabbat meal, according to hareidi news site B'Hadrei Hareidim.Israel Investigates Charges Police Beat US Citizen During Riots
The rocks shattered the front door, creating panic in the dining hall for the unarmed yeshiva students. In response, students began throwing whatever they could at the rioters to defend themselves from the attack, including metal chairs and even boiling water.
Eventually, the students lobbed a pot of cholent, the traditional meat stew kept hot overnight on Shabbat, at the rioters; the terrorists fled and did not return.
News of the unconventional fightback has gone viral Sunday - but leaders of the yeshiva are not amused.
Speaking to AFP on Saturday, police spokeswoman Luba Samri could not confirm it was Tariq in the video, but said the footage was from the arrest of a group of six Arab rioters, of whom Tariq was one.
Samri said police found a sling on Tariq, who attacked police and resisted arrest, while others were stoning police officers and throwing Molotov cocktails at them.
Samri said six police were wounded during that arrest operation.
Abu Khder is to appear before a Jerusalem court on Sunday, according to his parents.
The US State Department reacted swiftly to the allegations, saying it was "profoundly concerned" over the reports.
Study: Throwing Stones At Passing Cars A Lousy Way To Change Policy (satire)
A review of political demonstrations in Israel and the areas under its control over the last two decades has concluded that hurling geological objects toward moving motor vehicles on nearby thoroughfares does not correlate with implementation of the demonstrators’ stated aims.Netanyahu on Gaza: Israel must act ‘calmly and responsibly’
The study looked at both Israeli and Palestinian rock-throwers, and also considered whether it made a difference whether the political powers that be in each case were Israeli or Palestinian. In all cases, there seemed to be little, if any, correlation between the prevalence of rock-throwing demonstrators in favor of a given policy and the eventual implementation of that policy. The period of study extended from 1987 through 2013, but did not cover the violent protests of the last week in Jerusalem or Wadi Ara, as the political achievements, if any, of those demonstrations would not yet be apparent in policy change.
While Israel is intent on restoring quiet to southern communities, it is determined to act “calmly and responsibly,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday following several days of rocket attacks from Gaza and Israeli retaliatory airstrikes.Minister Calls to Cut Aid to Gaza, Target Hamas Leaders
“The goal of all our actions is to restore peace and security to all Israeli citizens, especially residents of the south,” Netanyahu said at the opening of Sunday’s cabinet meeting. “Experience has proved that in moments like these it is best to act calmly and responsibly and not with bluster and rashness. We will do everything necessary to restore quiet and security to the south.”
Israel Air Force jets struck 10 “terror sites” in the central and southern Gaza Strip overnight Saturday following escalated rocket barrages on Israeli communities in recent days, including a salvo of rockets aimed at Beersheba on Saturday, one of which was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
"The policy of all governments since Hamas took power in Gaza is the wrong policy," Katz began. "The security system has also become too conservative, and [neither] has come and taken revolutionary steps [to combat Hamas]."Abbas Pleads with Hamas to Stop Rocket Fire
"This has been driving the political leadership over the years, this is what has been driving state policy over the years, and this government is not doing what it needs to," he added.
Katz called to break all of Israel's humanitarian aid to Gaza, including the electricity and water it supplies.
"We need to break away from the population in Gaza," he said. "We need to set boundaries and say goodbye to Gaza until their is peace - no fuel, no electricity, no water, no food." (h/t Bob Knot)

At least fifteen rockets were fired on Israel in a 12-hour period on Saturday, including two at Be'er Sheva; the IAF retaliated with targeted airstrikes.

Terrorists released from prison will be re-arrested if they or their organization attacks Israelis, according to a bill approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation Sunday. For Hamas, it’s all about the money
The bill, proposed by Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Ze'ev Elkin (Likud Beytenu) and signed by MKs in Labor, Bayit Yehudi, Hatnua, Shas UTJ and Yesh Atid, is meant to combat plans by terrorists to kidnap Israeli soldiers or civilians.
In recent weeks, the government arrested dozens of terrorists who were released via a presidential pardon in exchange for captive soldier Gilad Schalit in 2011, following the kidnapping of three Israeli teens in Gush Etzion, who were found murdered 18 days later.
The Palestinian reconciliation deal between Hamas and Fatah looks as though it is about to evaporate into thin air in the West Bank and Gaza.Nokia returns to Israel with 3D tech acquisition
Hamas’s Al-Aqsa TV reported Friday night that Hamas ministers will return to work as sole rulers of the Gaza Strip by the 15th of Ramadan (July 13) if the Palestinian Authority doesn’t pay the salaries of roughly 40,000 Hamas government clerks. Those same 40,000 Palestinians have been the focus of discord between Fatah and Hamas since the formation of the national unity government in April.
Hamas has demanded that the the government pay its workers, while Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his associates claimed that the reconciliation agreement had dictated that a special committee would decide which employees would continue to work for the PA government and receive salaries from it. Those decisions have yet to be made.
Two years after shuttering its research and development operations in Israel, device manufacturer Nokia is back. The NICE technology wasn’t specifically developed for mobile devices, but it could be easily applied to cell networks. Used mostly on local area or wireless networks, the system generates detailed 3D indoor and outdoor monitoring maps that enable engineers to pinpoint problems down to a particular floor of a building. The system analyzes and manages issues such as antenna and radio parameters, “neighbor” issues – checking what impact other networks in the area are having — and scrambling codes, which ensure that wireless connections don’t get mixed up.
